Former NFL player encourages reading at Elizabeth Davis MS
0If your kids are not already a Tim Green fan, the author and NFL alumnus, they may have become one if she or he was lucky enough to see his presentation at Elizabeth Davis Middle School last Wednesday. Green spoke to Davis’ sixth grade classes and seventh grade English class students about his brand-new book, “Kid Owner.” He also discussed his involvement in the NFL’s Play60/Read20 initiative, which he kicked off with the NY Giants in September and followed up recently with the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys. Harper Rises to the Occasion
0In outer space, explosions give birth to stars. L.C. Bird’s reemergence into the volleyball scene started in 2013 with the first-ever Conference 12 championship. Lache Harper was just a role player. This year, using her Skyhawk-like wingspan at 6-1, she exploded on the scene as a senior, leading the Skyhawks to their second conference championship in three years, advancing to the region semi-finals, a school best. “It was very important for us as a team to win the conference championship,” Harper said. “It was our goal going into the season.” The Skyhawks lost a lot of college-level talent from last…

Thomas Dale added a second touchdown in the first quarter as Gabe McCollin, who rotates at the position on certain packages…
Dogpound Not Pleased with Change
0Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound where things are in a constant state of change. As I mentioned in the last article, I was forced to join the new gym at the hospital and I had my concerns. One of my concerns was the fear of overcrowding, but so far it has not been too bad. One reason for this, I am guessing, is that I can get to the gym before the 5 p.m. clock crowd arrives. However, there are still some concerns. I like to use the barbells…I think they give me more…
