0Emmalyn Jessup, a first grader at C.C. Wells Elementary, received a surprise visit from her teacher, Maureen Capel. Over the weekend, she delivered the sign pictured above to her students. Jessup says it was the most amazing surprise!
Chesterfield systems expands Chromebook take-home program
0Approximately 2,500 additional Chromebooks are being distributed to students in Grades 2-4, this week, allowing the school division to further expand an “Anytime Anywhere Learning,” laptop take-home program that already is believed to be one of the largest in the country. By next week, nearly 40,000 Chromebooks will be available to be used at home by students while school buildings are closed due to COVID-19. In addition, thanks to financial donations from local philanthropic organizations to the Chesterfield Education Foundation, Chesterfield County Public Schools soon will provide hundreds of hotspot devices to support families currently without access to the Internet…

Elijah Rivers is headed to Old Dominion, Dom Gray will attend and play at Randolph-Macon, and Shaun Allen and Savion Parham will remain teammates at Bluefield College. 0By Walter Scott Jr. It seems that the number of scholarship offers for wide receiver Troy Lewis and for running back Jacob Coleman changes day by day. The Matoaca standouts reeled in more offers this week. Lewis is now up to 22 offers. His previous count total stood at 19. This past week, he’s added offers from East Carolina, Kent State, and Old Dominion. East Carolina features Coleman’s older brother, Jonathan, and the university has already offered Jacob. The plan is supposed to show two ways out of every room, a safe meeting place outside of the home, the ability of every person in the home to self-rescue (get themselves out on their own).
