Comments on bikeways, trails can still be made
0According to the Chesterfield County Planning Department, the comment portion of the proposed new chapter of the “Comprehensive Plan – Bikeways and Trails will focus on the long term future for non-motorized transportation in Chesterfield County.” The Planning Commission in June conducted a public hearing on the chapter. After hearing community concerns, the planning department produced a second draft. This new draft is available at www.chesterfield.gov/bikeplan for review and comment. This comment period will be open until September 22. The Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on the second draft of the Bikeways and Trails chapter on October 20 at their 6 p.m. session. …

0R.E.B. recipient, Anne Canipe, has completed her around-the-world trip, days before the start of the new school year and her teaching assignment in the Social Studies Department at Cosby Health Science Specialty Center teaching World History I, AP Human Geography and Medical Law & Ethics. Canipe’s 27-day adventure in East Asia consisted of traveling to Japan for the 70th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. Volunteers Needed for James River Regional Cleanup, Sept. 12
