0By Walter Scott Jr Angel Hines announced her commitment to Chestnut Hill College to play soccer. A multi-sport athlete, Hines played both soccer and football in her time with L.C. Bird. Hines takes care of the ball, makes great decisions, and is very unselfish. She was supposed to lead her soccer team under new head coach Don Wells, but things didn’t go as planned, with…

Avoid worry by using your wits
0To the Editor: A main character in one of Aesop’s fables was a crow. In a spell of dry climate, when the flying creature could discover next to nothing to drink, a parched crow found a pitcher with a little water in it. Be that as it may, the pitcher was high, with an extended neck. Regardless of how he attempted, the crow couldn’t arrive at the water. The poor thing felt as though he would perish from thirst. At that point, a thought came to him. Getting some little stones, he dropped them into the pitcher individually. With every stone,…

0“Our mom is amazing,” Christine Petri said in an email of her mom turning 100 this week. “She has adapted so well to whatever her circumstances are….as long as she can do for herself, including walking to her beauty shop once a week and cleaning everyday, she is contented…winning at Dominoes helps a lot too!” Marie Petri will celebrate her 100th birthday Thursday, April 25. It will be a quiet celebration due to COVID-19, but her family and friends look forward to her 101 in 2021. Marie was only five when she moved with her family from Hockenheim, Germany, to…
