Two 14-year old boys are missing at sea from a fishing trip. As I watched this story, I felt that I had no choice but to weigh in on this tragedy. My experience with a scenario like this one takes me back to my Coast Guard days and a long couple of weeks with Chesterfield Fire & EMS. Ecoff Elementary School recently completed its summer camp, which focused on TRAK’D, providing kids with hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and arts (STEAM). The camp is for pre-k through fifth grade children in Southern Chesterfield. “It was a high energy environment where science was fun and helped children grow confidence in STEM fields of study,” said Dr. LaChelle Waller, TRAK’D founder and executive director. In another rendition of the Bronco 11 World Series, annually hosted by Chesterfield Baseball Clubs (CBC), the hosting CBC team hoisted the trophy and champions this year. While the home town All-Stars fell short in the final four on Sunday, it was Murietta Valley, California that brought home the second title for The Golden State in three years. The Chesterfield Baseball Club (CBC) 13U Pony All-Star team won the three-day East Zone championship tournament in Cranberry Township, PA, on Sunday, July 26, with a score of 18-4 in the final game. The team of 14 players and their two coaches traveled to Whittier, Calif. (outside of Los Angeles), on Thursday, July 30, to play in the Pony-13U World Series.
