Max’s Journey Continues

0

Hello and welcome back to the Dogpound where we are taking a sentimental journey down memory lane. They say the best way to ease the loss of a friend and/or loved one is to recount the good times you had together, and, by doing so, they will never seem to be very far way. One of the other cute things Max did when he was young, besides climbing out of the play pen, he would grab one of my socks out of the bedroom and sleep with it. He always liked to be in the same room with me, and…

Residential sales market shows strongest second quarter since 2008 recession. The Virginia residential real estate market experienced its strongest second quarter since the 2008 recession, with sales volume reaching nearly $10.6 billion during the April through June time frame. This sales volume represents an 11 percent increase relative to the second quarter of 2014 ($9.5 billion), according to the Second Quarter 2015 Home Sales Report released by Virginia Association of REALTORS® (VAR). The dollar value of the volume increase is due primarily to an increased number of units sold for the comparable time periods (2014-Q2 to 2015-Q2), since the median…

Chester Farmer’s Market Ranks Nationally

Sue Levy enthusiastically endorsed the Chester Farmer’s Market last week as she took a break from the hot sun in the Village Hall on the Village Green. “We come all the time,” Ms. Levy said. “It’s the only market I’ve seen. Even in Connecticut we didn’t have one.” Chester’s Market is in its sixth year. Being one of the first in Chesterfield, it has become a place where longtime vendors have created a long list of regular customers. Several produce vendors, at least two who do not use pesticides when growing their produce, free range eggs, chickens and meats, artisan…

In the movie “Big,” Tom Hank’s character, during a meeting at a toy company where he worked, says, “I don’t get it,” about a proposed toy that does not make sense for kids. Sometimes, that is how I feel. I don’t get it. While we, as a county, are working to promote ourselves as either a sports tourism or even historic tourism location, how can we leave the entrances to the county not very well-marked, welcoming people into the county or allowing them to be such a mess in some cases. I just read in the Progress-Index about a project…
