Crime of the Week

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is asking for your help this week to solve an armed robbery.

On the evening of Wednesday, March 11, a middle-aged black male approached the clerk of the Econo Lodge at 2310 Indian Hill Road. He asked the clerk for the cost of getting a room. The clerk answered, and the suspect appeared to be reaching into a bag to retrieve money. Instead, the suspect pulled out a gun and threatened to kill the clerk if she did not comply with his demand for money. Once the clerk complied, the suspect left on foot. A light-colored SUV was seen minutes before the robbery and detectives are trying to determine if it was involved.

The robbery suspect was approximately 45 years of age, about 6 feet tall, and wearing a navy Polo-style shirt with white print, black jeans, a dark fedora and red eyeglasses.
