For the holidays and as a way to raise funds for the club’s vision projects, the Chester Lions Club members have delicious Virginia Peanuts from Plantation Peanuts in Wakefield available for the holidays. “The club recently began offering these tasty treats as an inducement to encourage people to increase and continue their generous donations to the club,” said Lion Carelyn Sheppard, committee chair. “All monies collected from the peanut sales go first to pay for the peanuts and then to the vision (eye exams and glasses) and hearing (aids) needs of the citizenry of the community who have need of their services.” Sheppard said to be on the lookout for an order form in next week’s Village News. The peanuts are all Virginia Peanuts grown and processed in the Commonwealth. “The peanuts which come in a virtual smörgåsbord of exciting tastes and flavors will be here well before Christmas, in plenty of time for gift giving,” she said. “If you have not tried these peanuts your taste buds are in for a treat. The Gourmet Salted and Unsalted are only the beginning. Southern Barbeque, Cajun, Jalapeno, Sweet & Spicy (the hottest one) and Lemon Crab are definitely not to be missed. The chocolate covered varieties will round out the selection.”
