Each year, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards honor the creative abilities of middle and high school students throughout the country. This year in regional competition, Chesterfield County student achieved a total of 110 Gold Keys, 196 Silver Keys and 298 honorable mentions. Because there is not a central Virginia competition, Chesterfield students compete in the Southeast region at large, which covers several states. Gold Key winners go on to national competition; national winners will be announced March 14 and honored in a New York City ceremony. Here are the winners in the Village News coverage area:
