CHESTER CHOICES BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP – Chester Library. 10:30 a.m. until Noon. “The Reader” by Bernard Schlink will be discussed. No registration required.

CHESTERFIELD TRIAD SENIOR DAY – 7:30 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Victory Tabernacle Church, 11700 Genito Road, Midlothian. The annual Chesterfield Triad Senior Day is an opportunity for residents to visit with local businesses and non-profit organizations who provide services to older adults. This free event also will have musical entertainment provided by Lynne Carnes of the Old Dominion Barn Dance, and a safety awareness program called a Touch of Cane Fu by Vickie Gaffney. PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION – 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Rooms A & B, Community Development Building, 9800 Government Center Pkwy. The Commission is a panel of County citizens who will act as a liaison between the public, the Board of Supervisors, and the County Administration. The Commission will review public input concerning parks and recreation facility development and programs and will work closely with the Department of Parks and Recreation to advise on long-range planning, policy, direction, and other critical issues.
The Chairman’s Workshop meets at 6:30 p.m. as needed.

THE ACOUSTIC CONCERT SERIES – 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. Central Library. Free concert. John Turner, Ten-time National Scottish Fiddling Champion.

CHESTER LIONS CLUB WHITE CANE FUNDRAISER – This Spring the Chester Lions will be at the north door of Kroger (the W. Hundred end) on Route 1 (a.k.a. Jefferson Davis Highway}; the WalMart on Ironbridge Road (Rt. 10) and Kroger Market Place, past the WalMart on Ironbridge Road, towards Chesterfield.

SPRING GREENHOUSE SALE – 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. 6819 Mimms Loop. (on sidewalk between the Administration and County Museum buildings) Sponsored by Chesterfield Life Changing Academy.

TIRE AMNESTY DAY – 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Don’t throw your tires away. Recycle them at this free event for Chesterfield County residents only. Only one visit per household and a limit of five tires per household. Participants must show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, water bill, etc. The only tires accepted will be bike, car and light truck – no tractor tires. Tires may be on or off their rims. STOP-MOTION ANIMATION – Ettrick/Matoaca Library. 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Teens program. Learn how stop-motion animation films are made. Write, direct and animate your own movie. Register online at library.chesterfield.gov
