The Cultural Center of India (CCI), announces the 12th Annual Taste of India event on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, from 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. This free, family event will be held at the Cultural Center of India at 6641 Iron Bridge Pkwy. in Chester. For directions, visit cciva.org.
This festival provides the community in the Richmond region with a glimpse of Indian culture, a taste of diverse Indian cuisine and an opportunity to experience Indian handicraft, art, music and various cultural dances. Enjoy the specific regional foods from various regions of India, including chicken curry, lamb curry, kabab, varieties of bread, the South Indian pancake dosa and the North Indian samosa. Some of the available beverages will include lassi, the traditional Indian chai tea from Darjeeling or Assam, varieties of Indian beer and many Indian desserts and ice cream.
Also, visitors may shop for jewelry, saris, Bollywood designer clothing, music CDs, books, paintings and many other items. Throughout the day, folk dances and presentations from various regions of India will be held, and visitors are invited to join the dance and fashion shows.
