Members of the Matoaca High School (MHS) American Red Cross Club and their families and friends recently volunteered at the Virginia Home 3 Mile Fun Walk. This is the sixth year that the Fun Walk has taken place, and the MHS American Red Cross Club has volunteered each time. The Virginia Home is a private non-profit that provides nursing, therapeutic and residential care to adult Virginians with irreversible disabilities. Members of the Red Cross club teamed up with different residents to assist them in the walk by: helping push their wheelchairs, guiding them around the course around beautiful Bird Park and mostly cheering them on and making them feel safe and cared for while participating in the event. The weather was beautiful. The volunteers had seemed to enjoy serving their community.
