VEPCO Seeking Solar Proposals
Dominion Virginia Power, is seeking bids for solar facilities that would be online in 2016 or 2017. The proposals must be for projects located in Virginia. VEPCO announced a location at Bermuda Hundred last year although that site may not be in this bid.
Chesterfield Hosts Bronco-11 World Series
Chesterfield Baseball Clubs (CBC) will be the hosting team of the Bronco 11U World Series once again this year, which begins this week at Harry Daniel Park.
Working Dogs Need Homes
Twelve Military Working Dogs have been housed at Greg Meredith’s Mt. Hope Kennels in Chester for nearly a year and a half. Friends and supporters, including the United States War Dogs Association and Mission K9 Rescue are working to find permanent homes for the dogs and much needed relief for the kennel.
New Business in Chesterfield
Evonik Industries has recently moved its Hopewell operation to a 96,000 sq. ft. building on Whitepine Road in the Chesterfield Airport Industrial Park. The $15.4 million German manufacturer specializes in chemicals for automobiles, plastics and pharmaceuticals.
Residents Concerned Over Route 10 Paving
A number of Chester residents say the paving project on Route 10 taking too long and damaging their vehicles. The complainants say double bumps at side streets, depressed-manhole covers and safety issues related to lane striping are making driving hazardous on the five-lane thoroughfare.
