Lemonade for the Cure

Lemonade-StandAfter looking at the building plans for a lemonade stand and the pile of wood to be cut and assembled Friday, July 18, a few of the of Chesterfield Community Church (CCC) members did not think they could get it done.

The mission was to build a lemonade stand to be used the next day. for a competition through Anthem’s Lemonade, which raises money for local kids with cancer. The group of CCC members got the job done and came together to design and decorate a lemonade stand, raising $500 for the Anthem Miracle Network to help cure cancer.

For nearly five hours, several church members came out to help and support the stand, which was set up at Greenwood Presbyterian Church on Woodpecker Road. The CCC group was ecstatic about the funds raised and had a wonderful time serving the community. The group learned last Thursday they were the winner for the “Most Festive Stand,” winning tickets to Kings Dominion and recognition within the Children’s Miracle Network media.

Chesterfield Community Church is led by Pastor Reggie Kirkman, and they currently share Greenwood Presbyterian Church’s building and facilities. CCC has already purchased 10 acres of land off Hickory Road to build their church.
