Registration is now open for the 2015 Annual Paddle or Battle, your opportunity for a leisurely paddle or a competitive race (1hr. 39 min is the time to beat) in your canoe, kayak, or SUP. This exciting 10 mile event takes place on Saturday, September 26 and is brought to you by the Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR), the regional organization working to protect and encourage wise use of the Lower Appomattox River.
The event begins at the beautifully renovated Hopewell City Marina. At the finish in Petersburg a shuttle will return you and your boat to Hopewell. The entire course is flat water in the tidal section of the river. The incoming tide is expected for the event.

Paddle or Battle registration includes continental breakfast in Hopewell as well as hot dog lunch and trophy presentation at the finish in Petersburg. All registrants receive an official event T-shirt!
Advance registration is $25/adult and $15/under 18 and active military. Day of event registration is $30/adult and $20 under 18 and active military. Day of sign-in/registration starts at 8 a.m.
Leisure paddling starts at 9 a.m. Race starts at 10 .a.m. Lunch and trophy activities are noon – 2 p.m.
