FALLING CREEK IRONWORKS DEDICATION EVENT – 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Falling Creek Ironworks Park, 6908 Jeff Davis Highway, North Chesterfield. Join the foundation for an exciting exploration of America’s first iron furnace, the 1619-22 ironworks on Falling Creek, as they unveil the new site improvements at the park and the Route 1 streetscape improvements. Activities will include tours of the archaeological ruins of both of the 1619 ironworks and Archibald Cary’s Colonial grist mill, exhibits, costumed interpretation, period music, living history, period demonstrations, Native American dancing and children’s activities. A special dedication ceremony will be held to unveil the recent site improvements. Concessions available. Event is a partnership between Chesterfield Parks and Recreation and Falling Creek Ironworks Foundation. This event is free and open to the public.
