Drinking water clinics for well owners

Learn more about the quality of your drinking water and how to care for your well water system. Monday, Oct. 19, 5-7 p.m. Chesterfield County Cooperative Extension, in collaboration with the Chesterfield County Department of Health, is conducting two drinking water clinics so that well owners can assess their drinking water. A meeting is being held in October where participants will pick up sample kits and receive instructions about how to collect a water sample. The cost per kit is $50, which includes a sample analysis test for selected chemical and bacteriological constituents.

The meeting will take place at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds Exhibition Hall, 10300 Courthouse Road, Chesterfield, Va.

Participants who drop off samples of their water on the Wednesday after their meeting between 5-9 a.m. at the Chesterfield County Fair Exhibition Hall will, in approximately four weeks, will receive their confidential test results, including an explanation of what the results mean and information about how to handle any problems. A flier with additional information is available at the Chesterfield County Public Library.
