Ecoff Elementary School has been preparing for weeks to have a real Pow Wow led by five Native American guests to honor Ecoff’s Tribe Pride.

On November 17, Ecoff will be hosting Native American guests for a school Pow Wow! Students will be participating with their grade level during resource time. They will get to dress for the occasion with vests, t-shirts, and headdresses made in resource class. All students have been immersed in Native American studies for the last few weeks: in Music, they learned about Native American music and instruments; in PE, they learned Pow Wow dance steps; in Computer, they used technology to create decorations for the event; in Library, they read stories and researched Native American culture; in Art, they designed their regalia for the ceremony. The Pow Wow will be a culminating activity to celebrate their learning and what it means to have “Tribe Pride”!
