The Woman’s Club of Chester invites all youth, 12 through 14 years of age, to submit an original 250-word essay on the subject “What It Means To Me To Be An American Citizen.” The essay should include the feelings and beliefs of the writer. Essays will be judged on content, originally and presentation (typed and neat).
On a separate cover sheet, provide the writer’s contact information to include full name, mailing address and telephone number. Send the typed essay along with the signed cover sheet to The Woman’s Club of Chester, P.O. Box 3074, Chester, VA 23831, Attention Citizenship Committee. Essay and cover sheet must be submitted by February 1, 2016.
First place winner will receive a cash award of $100 and second place winner will received $50. The award presentations will take place in March, 2016.
