The exhibit may be viewed during Library hours: Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The Library is located at 201 W. Washington St., Petersburg. For more information, visit the Library’s website at www.ppls.org.
After suffering a traumatic brain injury from a severe helmet-to-helmet blow to the head during a regular season game on the Matoaca High School football team – which cut short his dreams and goals of playing college and professional football –Gholson turned to art and photography to raise awareness for, and about, people living with concussions, traumatic brain injuries and chronic, traumatic encephalopathy. Along with his sister and mother, Gholson presents “No Signal,” a modern-day, colorful, abstract and pixelated photographic portrayal of his family’s world of “missed signals” as a result of the accident.
