CHESTER – St. John’s Episcopal Church, 12201 Richmond St., will have a “Blessing of the Backpacks” August 21during the 10:00 a.m. service. The bags will be blessed in the midst of special prayers for a safe and fruitful school year.
Second Baptist Church, 5100 W. Hundred Rd, will have a Back To School “Support For Success” to give out school supplies, discuss driver safety, provide student tips on how to be a good student, August 27, Noon – 2 pm.
Chester Baptist Church, 4317 School St., is gathering school supplies to distribute at Harrowgate Elementary School. A backpack ministry is conducted throughout the school year.
Amazing Grace World Fellowship, 5709 Jessup Rd., will hold a special Back to School event on Tuesday, August 30, 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. They will give out supplies while they last and books for the continuation of the STAR Reading Little Library program.
The Lord’s Healing Church will be giving away school supplies Saturday, August 27 from 11a.m. to 1p.m. at the Alcott Road – Huntwood Apartments. They will give school supplies and pizza.
