Chester – Henricus Historical Park is proud to host the second annual Hops in the Park Fall Festival Saturday, Nov. 12. In collaboration with Chesterfield Economic Development, the Henricus
Foundation presents this exciting event that will showcase agri-business activities related to the manufacturing of craft beer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
A one-of-a-kind, premiere harvest festival in Chesterfield County, Hops in the Park will be filled to the brim with live music, beer tasting, food, a Mickael Broth Art Gallery, and goods from Virginia
Grown farmer’s market. With the ability to interact with re-enactors and learn what it was like to live on the banks of the James River more than four centuries ago, visitors will immerse themselves in the history of beer, hops farming, operating a farm brewery, and so much more.
In addition to the liquid libations, food is also available at Hops in the Park and is inspired by what the early settlers would have enjoyed, living on the banks of the James River. From oysters to smoked turkey legs and lots of other great rustic foods from Virginia, visitors will be able to experience what life tasted like in the 1611 Citie of Henricus. And those visitors who really want to immerse themselves in the 17th century, there is an opportunity to purchase a VIP pass from event Sponsor Capital Ale House. VIP’s will enjoy a history-rich food and beverage experience in the tavern and Mount Malady. Richmond area food trucks will also be on site.
Additional sponsors of Hops in the Park in include WestRock, RJ Smith Companies, McGuireWoods, Shoosmith, Virginia Waste, VDASC, Chesterfield Farm Bureau, and Old Dominion Hops Cooperative.
There is no admission fee for the fall festival. Food and beverages will be sold on a per-item basis. Please visit www.HopsInThePark.com for more information, and check out the Henricus Historical Park Facebook page and Henricus.org for updates.
