The feedback provided by citizens on the proposed charter changes at the public hearing on November 16th is appreciated. Based on that feedback, some of the original proposed changes have been removed to enhance the Board of Supervisors oversight and citizen participation in the hiring of the Police Chief. In addition, only departments with a separate policy board (Social Services, Mental Health Support Services) or departments needed to be listed (such as Police) or where certain delegations of authority (Planning) are included in the charter.
