Is it Christmas Yet? Part Two

Hello and welcome back to the festive world of the Dogpound. Christmas is rapidly approaching, and I can tell because my mailbox is overflowing with catalogs. Even with the all of the online purchases, companies are still eager to get your attention at home and at the store.

So far that is not really working for me…I have only gotten two things done so far. One, I did get my Christmas cards out, including that cute picture of me all decked out in my Ohio State University clothes, coffee mug, and blanket in front of the fireplace. Of course, one main item missing this year was the inclusion of Max. It was always an interesting challenge taking a picture with Max. I had to set the camera up on a table or chair, frame the image, press the timer, and rush over to the fireplace to pose myself and Max before the 10-second timer expired.

Then the fun began. If I wanted him to be sitting, he would be lying down; if I wanted him to look at the camera, he would be looking at his tail; if I wanted him just to stay still for 10 seconds, he would wander off camera. Despite that, 10 takes later, we were able to get a suitable picture for our Christmas cards. As for item two, I did manage to buy one gift with the help of my middle daughter. Her son, as many kids are these days, is deep into Pokémon stuff…and to be honest …that is about all I really know about these toys, so she sent me a link to Amazon. I put in the link, some kind of Pokémon stuff came up..it was in a box…I ordered it, and in a few days I will know what I purchased. One down and three more to go…I still have time, but I have to decide on something pretty soon.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“There has been only one Christmas-the rest are anniversaries.”
– W. J. Cameron

GIVE IT TO HER
Wife asks her husband to pass her a newspaper. He replies, “Newspaper? Are you really that behind reality? Technology has developed so much and you are still asking for the newspaper? Here, take my iPad instead.”The wife takes the iPad and uses it to kill a cockroach. Her husband faints. [Sometimes the old ways are still the best way!!]

I KNOW
The hit-and-run victim was just getting to his feet when a policeman ran up to help. “My mother-in-law just tried to run me over!” the shaken man told the cop. “The car hit you from behind,” the officer said. “How could you tell it was your mother-in-law?” “I recognized the laugh!”

That is enough for one night. As always, be good, do good, play safe and remember, it is true that it is the thought that counts, but at least try to make it a really good thought.
