Robert Williamson III, a sophomore at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of the Arts, and graduate of Matoaca HS 2015, has returned from a week of intensive study recently after being chosen as one of two United States delegates for the Australasian Trumpet Academy in Gold Coast, Australia.
The academy brought more than a dozen trumpet players from around the world, studying both baroque and modern orchestral repertoire. A week of intensive masterclasses, lessons, and trumpet ensembles culminating a performance at the Griffith University, Queensland Conservatory in Brisbane, Australia.
