Antiques evaluation coming March 16

CHESTERFIELD — The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia will host its annual antiques evaluation from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 16, indoors at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds.

Oral evaluations will be provided on a wide variety of items as well as detailed photos of an item. Parking is free and food will be available to purchase.

Professional evaluators participating in this event include: John Whiting of Whiting’s Old Paper (documents, sheet music, postcards, magazines, posters, and maps); Bill McDonald (antique toys); Turner Johnson (decorative and fine arts, including furniture, glass, silver and china); David Packard of Packard’s Stamps and Rocks (stamps, vintage post cards, minerals, geodes, and fossils); Ronald Card (coins and currency, fine jewelry, military memorabilia, military documents, and photos); Judy Knauf of the Doll Hospital (dolls); Anthony Townsend (bottles and vintage store advertisements and signs).

Cost is $10 per item or $25 for three items. Proceeds from this event will go to the Chesterfield Historical Society. For information contact Karen Sadler at (804) 796- 7156.

The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia serves as the center for county history.
