Hello and welcome back from the wonderful world of the Dogpound. Is it Easter yet? Easter is about 6 weeks away, but according to my local Walmart, it is already here. Nothing new about that, but I just wanted to point that that out. What else is new? Well, with the weather starting to warm up, birds are starting to return, and the blackbirds are back in force. I watch them in amazement; the flocks have so many birds. I mean, there literally has to be thousands of them, maybe millions! I have watched them fly across the sky for like, 5 total minutes as they snake across the sky. Not only is that mesmerizing, it is also amazing to see how so many manage to avoid each other and turn in sync when the group for whatever reason decides to change direction. Got to love Mother Nature. Also, the deer have returned. Not that they ever went away, but they do have a habit of disappearing for a while. Hunting season?! When I first moved out here, there was a herd or around 20-plus that hung out in the fields, then they kind of dispersed. You would see a small cluster here or there, always a challenge to watch out for, since they gather around the lane I drive to work, and they are more than willing to play chicken with my car. Lately, they have broken into three groups. One group is around 15-18 …another group a little way up the lane is 5-6, and just a few seconds up the road is another group of 6-7. Not sure if they are Democrats, Republicans,or independents…but they are not socializing while they are in the corn fields looking for the last of the corn that was missed by the picker. Oh yes…my toe. As I mentioned previously, that my toe was not healing as it should, and I was due to go back to my foot doctor for a follow-up visit after she took part of my nail out from my big toe. As suspected, she was not happy with the healing process. It was all red, puffy, and sore, No surprise there. So, she starts prodding and pocking at it, which was no fun, since it was already very sore. Then she decided to cut away some of the dead skin. I have to tell you that there is a very fine line between cutting dead skin and cutting real skin. I know she tried to be careful, but it still hurt. A lot. Then she proceeded to tell me that if this did not do the trick then she would have to numb it and go back in again. The numbing process requires shots….and even though my toe hurts…it would be nothing compared to getting more shots. She wrapped my toe and gave me a prescription for some antibiotics; so far, so good. Things seem to be getting a lot better. Think she put the fear into my toe…shape up or face the consequences!
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“Plant seeds of happiness, hope, success, and love; it will all come back to you in abundance. This is the law of nature.” Steve Maraboli
SMILES
Overheard; “My husband said I should smile more….so I divorced him.” [Think about it!]
“Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people they don’t like.” Will Rogers
“It’s not that it’s so good with money, but that it’s so bad without it.” George Sanders
“I have all the money I’ll ever need, if I die before noon tomorrow.” Henny Youngman
Ok…better get on with it. As always, be good, do good, play safe and remember to watch out for Mother Nature.
