There will be no Christmas parade this year. In abandoning the annual event, the Kiwanis Club of Chester , calling thia a difficult decision, cited the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic and concern for the health and safety of our participants, attendees, and volunteers.
“We had hoped for a long time that this virus would be over, [that]everyday life would return to normal, and that the parade could bring some cheer into everyone’s lives,” the club’s statement reads. “We are unable to wait any longer, and the time has come for us to make this tough decision before countless hours of planning are spent. We cannot risk the health and safety of our community.
“We know this is disappointing but thank you for understanding.” The next parade is schedule for Dec. 12, 2021.
