A fun and social bicycle group ride around the County Complex will take place each Saturday, the first being scheduled Oct. 3 at 8:30 a.m. and will continue each Saturday. The hours may change in November when the weather gets a little cooler.
The ride starts at the Central Library, 7051 Lucy Corr Blvd. Parking is allowed on the Lori Road side of the Library. The route is 5.5 miles, with one outer loop and two inner loops. It also includes two fun and relaxing roundabouts. The terrain is “5” and mainly flat. This ride is at a “B/C” pace but riders may ride at their preferred paces and choose a different route if they wish. The riders will try to stay together as much as possible. At the riders’ discretion, the route may be completed multiple times for more fun and exercise. Beginners and experts alike are welcomed.
There will be a sign-up sheet in the parking area on the back of a dark green Toyota Camry. Please sign up before riding. The cue sheet or the map will be provided. More details on this ride may be found on the Richmond Area Bicycle Association Website, raba.org.
COVID-19: Social distancing will be practiced before, during, and after the ride, with mask wearing as needed if people get too close.
In the future, there are plans to ask local bicycle shops to perform a maintenance and safety class every so often for the group, and plan to ask each rider to donate a canned good to be given to the local foodbank. This is bicycling for fun, exercise, networking, and charity.
Riders participate at their own risk. Riders are responsible for their own safety and well-being.
