Through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 for school supplies to the staff at Marguerite Christian Elementary. The donation is in celebration of its new store, now open in Chester. Representatives from Burlington Stores presented the check today during a virtual “faculty meeting.”
A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org helped to secure the donation for Marguerite Christian Elementary, which will provide $5,000 in new supplies for classrooms.
“Strong community partnerships are essential to the success of our students and schools,” County superintendent Merv Daugherty said. “Thanks to the support of generous partners like AdoptAClassroom.org and Burlington, the teachers at Marguerite Christian Elementary can imagine tomorrow with additional opportunities to enrich their virtual and in-person classrooms and create even more engaging learning experiences for our students.”
According to Marguerite Christian principal Rovez Ingram, the teachers will use the funds on a number of new classroom items that will support and enrich both “virtual” and “hybrid” learning.
“On behalf of Chesterfield County Public Schools, I welcome our new local Burlington store to our community and thank them and AdoptAClassroom.org for their generous donation to our school,” Ingram said. “Our teachers are so excited to purchase the tools they need, whether teaching in the classroom or from home. We are thankful for the support we received from Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org.”
Burlington says it is committed to supporting education through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. Each time Burlington opens a new store, Burlington celebrates by adopting and funding a local elementary school in the market. The new location at 12601 Jefferson Davis Highway is said to provide “wow- deals” for the entire family and home.
