Albright College in Reading, Pa., has been particularly active at Thomas Dale as of late, and two more football offers came down the pipeline.

Jakar Coleman and Devin Drakes-Herring each received offers from Albright. It’s the first scholarship offer for each one.

Coleman and Drakes-Herring are both rising seniors for the Knights football program, which is hoping to play in the spring. Both are athletic, young, and hungry to prove themselves.

At 5-10 and 187, Coleman is a quick but strong player who could contribute at running back or linebacker for Dale this upcoming season. The greatest of his contributions have come on special teams, where he has been a standout.

“Coleman got playing time on the defensive side of the ball for us and appeared in all of our special teams,” said Thomas Dale coach Kevin Tucker. “He has a nose for the football.”

Drakes-Herring profiles as a potential wide receiver or defensive back. At 5-10 and 145 pounds, he has room to grow into a frame that already produces excellent speed.

“Devin contributed on all of our special teams last year,” Tucker said. “He was also a valuable backup to our starting group of wide receivers and played a ton when we went into the spread.”

Tucker went on to praise both of his student-athletes further.

“Both of these young men are team-first guys, and they always do anything and everything to help their teammates,” he said. “We are very proud of their accomplishments on and off the field. Both are model citizens in school.”
