The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield hosted its 16th annual Ice Cream Social on Sept. 23, at Goyne Park in Chester. The beautiful, crisp, Wednesday afternoon provided the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of fellowship, frozen treats, and social distancing, sponsored by the Crandol, Twilley, Raybould, and Yankowsky families Thrivent Financial. The Ice Cream Social is a signature event for this nonprofit interfaith organization that offers free, accompanied transportation, in-home handyman services, and “low-cost, life long learning” classes to adults over 60 in Chesterfield and the surrounding communities. More than 50 guests enjoyed delicious ice cream and wonderful camaraderie.
