BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING – 3 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Public Meeting Room, 10001 Iron Bridge Rd. Chesterfield County is governed by a five-member Board of Supervisors elected by district. The Board of Supervisors appoints a county administrator who directs the county’s day-to-day operations. Sessions typically begin at 3 p.m., break at 5 p.m. for dinner, and then resume at 6:30 p.m. The Board will adopt its meeting schedule for 2016.

POST-CIVIL WAR LECTURE SERIES – Henricus Historical Park. 251 Henricus Park Rd. 7 p.m. Church Meeting Hall. Henricus Historical Park will examine what life was like for Confederate soldiers after the Civil War with the “After Four Years of Arduous Service” lecture. Following the surrender in 1865, Confederate soldiers made long journeys home to rebuild, both emotionally and physically. The panel discussion will look at the lives of soldiers, families, communities and organizations of the immediate post war Virginia and former Confederacy. This special series of lectures is free of charge and brought to you by several regional partners including Henricus Historical Park, Chesterfield County, Henrico Recreation and Parks, Hanover Tavern and Richmond National Battlefield Park.
