Chores and Crafts of the Past on July 30

Chores-&-Crafts-historical-societyThe Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV) will present a family-friendly event at the County Museum on Saturday, July 30.  Drop in anytime between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to learn about chores and crafts of long ago.

Candle dipping will be demonstrated from 11 a.m. to noon; learn about hand -rolled bees-wax candle making from noon to 1 p.m.  Experience butter churning and make an herbal sachet to take home, anytime during event hours.

CHSV’s event is appropriate for all ages.  While the event is free, donations are welcome.  Tours of the 1892 Jail will be available during the event.  Both the museum and the jail are located on the Historic 1917 Courthouse Green along Route 10/Ironbridge Road in Chesterfield. Parking is available behind the museum at 6813 Mimms Loop.
