VSU Skyline Change
A new 175-ft tall 2-million gallon water storage tank for Virginia State University (VSU) and Chesterfield County at the VSU Randolph Farm is nearing completion. The tank was recently painted with VSU logos on the ground and was raised into position.
Traffic Increase near Amazon Fullfillment
Motorists should expect increased traffic in the area of Enon Church Road and Meadowville Technology Parkway through Friday, July 17. Police said the Amazon Fulfillment Center on Meadowville Technology Parkway will temporarily increase its workforce this week.
National Night Out Aug. 4
During the 32nd Annual National Night Out, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 4, residents in neighborhoods throughout Chesterfield County and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police.
Chesterfield Top Digital County
Chesterfield placed first on the Digital Counties Survey in the 250,000-499,999 population category. This year, the county was recognized for creating strategic planning documents such as Blueprint Chesterfield and the Information Technology Investment Model, as well as for its transparency and open government efforts.
Burning at the stake
Witness a reenacted burning at the stake! A popular Crime and Punishment event will focus on the 1612 publishing of Laws Divine, Moral, and Martial for the Virginia colony, which explained the punishments that were to be administered to the guilty and condemned. The event will take place on Saturday, July 18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
