Kaitlyn Ward is your typical nine-year-old in the fifth grade at Curtis Elementary. She is obsessed with dance and has been since she was 18 months old, says her mother Kristin Ward. “She loves dance with such a passion that you can’t help but keep your eyes on her,” said Ward.

Kaitlyn is being trained at Tip Tap Toes by Maggie Floyd in Chester. ”Maggie has brought out the very best in Kaitlyn,” Kristin said. Along with her regular dance classes, she is part of the Toe-Tal Package Dance Team, with which she competes.

Last spring, “Be Discovered” posted a scholarship opportunity for which Kaitlyn and her mom applied with photos and videos of her dancing. “Though she’s a small town girl from Chester she had talent and was one of sixteen chosen from the USA and Canada to experience a

Summer in LA Disney Intensive. “Kaitlyn was offered an incredible opportunity to dance during a week training with top choreographers in Hollywood including Benjamin Allen and Joseph Corella-Sandler,” Ward said. “One day lasted 13 hours.”

Traveling to Los Angeles with Kaitlyn and her mother were Kristin’s mother, Allyson, and Ward’s youngest daughter, Kara.

Along with the intensive workshop, Kaitlyn had a tour of L.A., the Grove, and Rodeo Drive. Shealso had a professional photo shoot and met with a talent agent. She also danced in a parade down Main Street USA at Disneyland as well as a stage show and another parade in California Adventure. “It was such an honor and was Kaitlyn’s dream to dance at Disney,” Kristin said. “At nine her dream came true.”
