This summer, Chesterfield County 4-H will be hosting a youth water rocket design competition. This competition will be open to both middle and elementary school students and will culminate in a final rocket launch extravaganza near the end of summer. You will have a month to research, design and build your rocket using basic supplies and a plastic 2 liter bottle. Information can be obtained from Chesterfield County Central Library. The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia (CHSV), in partnership with the Chesterfield County Department of Parks and Recreation, presents a badge workshop for Boy Scouts in August. The Boy Scout American Heritage Badge Workshop will be held on Saturday, August 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at Historic Trinity Church, 10111 Iron Bridge Rd. The Chesterfield Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia, will offer a driving tour of Civil War battle sites that played a major role in the 1864 Bermuda Hundred Campaign on Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning at Henricus Historical Park.
