Site plans have been approved for two fast food restaurants on Jefferson Davis Highway. Popeyes and Panda Express received site plan approvals on Dec. 20 and March 20, respectively. The two businesses would be located at 12131 and 12149 Jefferson Davis Highway south of a Dollar Tree store, which is located seven-tenths of a mile north of the Route 10 intersection. Bulldozers were seen on the Panda Express site last week. The site plans call for a 2,200-square-foot Panda Express with a 400-square-foot patio and a 3,185-square-foot Popeyes. At its annual meeting earlier this month, the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs Association elected Chesterfield County Fire & EMS Chief Edward “Loy” Senter Jr. to its 2019-2020 board. Senter was elected by his association peers to serve as an alternate board member. He has been an active member in the association for more than 14 years. Over the next six years, he will advance through the association’s officer positions and serve a one-year term as president of the organization. In receiving the Snead-Stebbins Award for his efforts to promote business in the Chester area, Amin gave the area high praise. About 100 youth converged on North Chesterfield last week to help with various projects on six homes in the Jefferson Davis Highway corridor. It was the second year that Impact Mission Camps – a subsidiary of the non-profit Baptist General Association of Virginia – came to the area to help. Glenn Maddox, the group’s missions mobilizer, said that North Chesterfield was one of five locations in Virginia and North Carolina where the teams helped.
