CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 6400 block Sexton Drive at about 4:40 a.m. on Monday, March 19. When police arrived, they found one male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life- threatening injuries. Police continue their investigation into this incident. CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Police are investigating an armed robbery of the Mapco Express and Subway restaurant at 13200 Kingston Avenue at about 2:19 a.m. on Sunday, March 18. No one was injured during the incident. Police said one man entered the business, displayed a firearm, and demanded money from both the clerk of the Mapco Express and Subway restaurant. The man is suspected of stealing money from both businesses and several boxes of tobacco products from the Mapco Express. The suspect fled the area in a silver SUV type of vehicle that was waiting nearby, a press release states.…

Hill, Cynthia D., 74, of Chesterfield, passed peacefully March 9, 2018. She is survived by her mother, Frances Presher of Columbia, S.C.; and sisters, Cassandra Hill of Decatur, Ala., and Kathileen Hill of Buffalo, N.Y. Cindy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired federal employee. She was an all-around good friend. CHESTER – Winds played havoc with area residents and their homes last week. A six-year-old boy died as a result of injuries sustained after a tree fell onto his bed at about 2 a.m. Friday, March 2. Chesterfield Police confirmed that Anthony Hamilton died later that day after being transported to a hospital. Cindy Marshall, a spokeswoman from the Chesterfield Fire Marshal’s Office, said 11 units responded to 820 Cliffside Drive. Police responded to the 12000 block of Timber Trail Drive for a domestic assault at 7:26 p.m. Feb. 22. Officers were told that a domestic assault had occurred and that the victim fled to a neighbor’s house. Officers were told that the suspect also went to the neighbor’s house where the front door was kicked in and a weapon was fired. The suspect then fled back to his residence, which was also in the 12000 block of Timber Trail Drive.
