Chesterfield County Police last week identified a 16-year-old who was struck by a train near the 15900 block of Woods Edge Road at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday, May 8. Aaron Groome, of no permanent address, was walking south on the train tracks between Jefferson Davis Highway and Interstate 95 when he was fatally struck by a southbound train, police said. Two methamphetamine labs were recently discovered in eastern Chesterfield County, resulting in five arrests. On May 14 at 10:23 p.m., county police went to the 2400 block of Arcadia Avenue for a wanted person. “Officers had obtained a search warrant for the residence and found the wanted person inside,” police spokeswoman Elizabeth Caroon said, noting that police found a meth lab. “The wanted person, Turner L. On Friday, May 17, Chesterfield Police responded to a report that a man had been found deceased in a vehicle in a parking lot in the 15700 block of Woods Edge Road. The man was identified as Timothy V. Kitt, 39, who had been reported missing May 14. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. A cause of death has not yet been determined, but at this point there are no signs of foul play. Kitt, of the 2600 block of Mangowood Drive in Chesterfield, did not return home from work May 14.

A teacher from Thomas Dale High School was assaulted while in the classroom on Wednesday, April 22, and the injuries sent the teacher to the hospital, police said. Chesterfield police served a warrant on a man who was wanted on suspicion of robbery following incidents outside Falling Creek Apartments around 7 a.m., Wednesday, April 24. Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect and a suspect vehicle. Detectives identified the suspect as Franklin P. Robinson, 37, of the 4800 block of Sydclay Drive in Henrico. Police obtained warrants for Robinson for two counts of robbery and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police identified the victim as Samuel Flaugher, 19, of Chester. He had attended Thomas Dale High School, according to his Facebook page. A Guatemalan national residing in the U.S. illegally was sentenced to a total of four years in prison last week for killing a 4-year-old boy in a two-vehicle crash Aug. 25 last year. Jose Armelio Gonzalez-Flores, 29, was given a total of 20-plus years with all but four years suspended. Judge Frederick G. Walker had his initial court date in Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court last week.
