Lucas Carmichael signing letter of intent to play baseball for William & Mary. Lucas Carmichael Baseball William and Mary Carmichael was recruited by a litany of schools in Virginia. He ended up choosing the College of William & Mary. The senior felt as if it was a good academic fit, and said he loved the coaching staff. Carmichael burst onto the recruiting scene as a sophomore, hitting .465 with nine stolen bases. That year, he was named first team All-Region and All-State. Johnson named preseason All-MAAC second team

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Canisius senior men’s basketball player Malik Johnson was recently named to the Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference second team. The Chesterfield resident has started all 99 career games played at the Jesuit-founded college and was an All-MAAC third-team choice at the end of the 2018-19 season after he averaged 9.6 points, 4.8 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in 32 contests. Burton commits to Va. Wesleyan

While coach Jake Wiseman continues to rebuild L.C. Bird’s baseball program, local colleges are watching. Another standout will play at the college level: pitcher Gavin Burton. The senior is a 6-foot, 177-pound righty has a mid-80-mph fastball and a slider. He is slotted in to be the Skyhawks’ ace when baseball starts up in the spring. He’ll join L.C. Bird alum and outfielder Jaelen Hines on the Virginia Wesleyan roster. A member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Wesleyan was 22-17 overall, 13-9 in conference play. Burton plans to major in criminal justice.
