Delegates voted 64-35 along party lines for House Bill 1090, which would cut off state funding for programs or facilities that offer abortions that would not be reimbursed under Medicaid, a federal-state program for low-income Americans. The American flag that flew over the Chester Village Green 24 hours a day disappeared during the snow storm on January 24. The flag was an oversized flag and had to be special ordered. The flag was provided by the Kiwanis Club of Chester. They also provided lighting for the flag. It is believed that with the weight of the snow on the cable, the cable broke bringing the flag to the ground. It is believe that it may have been picked up for protection. Chesterfield Police have arrested a Chesterfield County Public Schools teacher’s aide in relation to the assault of an exceptional education student at Robious Middle School, 2701 Robious Crossing Drive, on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Police were notified of the incident on Friday, Feb. 5, after video of the assault was discovered on another faculty member’s cell phone. The assault was captured on video by another exceptional education student, who happened to be handling the phone at the time of the incident.
