The Chester Family YMCA is encouraging local residents to learn their risks for pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, and to take preventive steps to potentially reduce their chances of developing the disease. The American Red Cross encourages eligible donors to give blood to help ensure a sufficient blood supply throughout the holiday season. A Blood Drive will take place November 21 at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chester YMCA at 3011 W. Hundred Road. A seasonal decline in donations often occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors get busy with family gatherings and travel.
