A storybook season for the Wolverines came to a halt as they fell in the state quarterfinals this past weekend. Coach Reggie Simon led the team to 21 wins and a top seed at the Class 1 state tourney by virtue of a region title. In his fourth year at the school, it’s been a complete turnaround from a program that struggled to field a team in his first season. Meghan Wilberger Despite her short time as a teacher, hard work has already resulted in Meghan Wilberger being named Teacher of the Year at Falling Creek Elementary School. Wilberger, who has only been teaching for five years, said she was surprised by the honor. Wilberger didn’t know what she wanted to do when she was younger, but knew she wanted to work with kids. County planning slight increase in utility rates

Chesterfield County is proposing a slight increase in water and wastewater utility fees. Director of Utilities George B. Hayes said the proposal would increase the water commodity charge from $2.07 to $2.15 per 100 cubic feet (ccf). The wastewater commodity charge would increase from $2.24 to $2.25 per 100 cubic feet.
