0Hello and welcome back to the wonderful world of the Dogpound. As I have mentioned in several past articles, my neighbor has three large dogs that like to come over and visit now and then. One is a Great Pyrenees and the other two are Burmese Mountain dogs. We made up snowballs and started throwing them at [the POWs],” said Billy Stubbs, a Bensley resident who remembers the German prisoners once housed adjacent to what is now Defense Logistic Agency, formerly DSCR. “They responded pretty lively and started throwing them back,” he said. VHSL poised to decide fate of ‘20-21 seasons
0The VHSL Executive Committee met in special session Wednesday, July 15, for the purpose of discussing the fall sports season. The committee unanimously voted (35-0-0) to meet on Monday, July 27, to vote on the three recommended models presented at the meeting for reopening sports and activities. The committee also voted to delay the beginning of fall sports until a final decision is made on July 27. Police investigate drowning
0The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a drowning. At about 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to assist rescue personnel with a potential drowning in the Appomattox River near the 21600 block of Chesterfield Avenue. Responding officers learned an adult male had gone into the water and went under without coming back to the surface. Ricky Darnell Beasley, 58, was pulled from the water by the Chesterfield County Fire Department Dive and Rescue Team. Beasley, of Buckingham County, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police looking into suspicious death
0Chesterfield County Police are investigating a suspicious death. On Saturday, July 11, police responded to an area hospital after two men arrived with injuries they had sustained the previous night during a fight at a club in the 7200 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. One victim had life-threatening injuries and the second had non-life threatening injuries. The second victim reported that he and the other victim were assaulted by an unknown suspect or suspects. On Thursday, July 16, the first victim died as a result of his injuries. His name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.…
