Thankful Tidings
0Instead of writing about my dissatisfaction with the state of the world and the human race, I’m going to take a cue from the upcoming week and instead, be thankful. As much as I despair, I am thankful, as heavy as my heart is, it does fill with joy when I see good shine through, and shine through it does. I am thankful; I am filled with gratitude for the good, for the hope, for the peace that I pray will come to this world. I am thankful that I live in a country where I am free to wonder,…

He handed the clerk what appeared to be a military ID, but when the clerk asked him what branch he served in, the man could not answer. Uninvited Guests
0I doubt that it has changed much since I left the job; firefighters love to eat. I can remember some of the best meals that I have ever eaten were in a fire station. There is nothing worse than to sit down for a meal and have the “heartsaver” tones go off – 3.7 out of every 10 responses will be to a single-family or multi-family dwelling for a kitchen fire. Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where cooking is a big part of the celebration. Will you have uninvited guests coming to your home? Cooking related fires happen every…
