Art of Slowing Down

Summer is moving right along – too fast. I am desperately trying to hold onto these last few weeks of summer, which has been one of the best summers we have had so far. My darling girl will be starting kindergarten in just a few short weeks. I just cannot get rid of the anxiety that is swirling around me like an invisible tornado. My sweet, little, angel-faced baby is going to big school, and a chapter in her life and mine will be closed forever. As parents, we get caught up in the day-to-day. We get up, fix the…

Haley Ford held a Grand Re-Opening Event last weekend during normal business hours to celebrate the renovation and upgrades to their showroom, service department and customer service lounge at 10724 Jefferson Davis Highway. This event was complete with music, food, drinks, bouncy house fun for the kids, a classic car show, a wide variety of pre-owned vehicles and, of course, brand new Fords. The renovation to the Haley Ford store (located at its original location on Jefferson Davis Highway) took about 10 months. The service lane was first and the showroom and customer waiting lounge soon followed. The result is…

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is available to help solve ANY unsolved crime within Chesterfield and Colonial Heights. If In Doubt…

Last Friday, we took a day trip to Nags Head. We staked our beach claim near Jeanette’s Pier close to the lifeguard stand. It was a beautiful day, with temperatures in the low- to mid-80s and a breeze off the ocean. Being close to the lifeguard station, we found ourselves in the midst of constant activity. Flying from the lifeguard stands were yellow flags that stated “Dangerous Currents.” The red four-wheelers that were used by the mobile lifeguards had a safety message on the back that read: “If in doubt, don’t go out.” There were crowds of people on this…
