To the Editor:
A letter from Chris Wiegard that appeared in the Village News was recently called to my attention. Wiegard questions using the Maggie Walker Governor’s School Jazz Band to perform at a political event – the appearance of Donald Trump at the Chesterfield County Republican Committee’s fund raiser in the spring. I hope the band was paid.
I also hope there were no Mexican students in the band. Trump’s later comments on Mexicans in this country should be shattering to any such student musicians.
The Chesterfield County Democratic Committee paid a musician to perform at its June fund raiser.
