Pictured above are the Kiwanis Club of Chester’s president, Bob Cassada, and past president, Noelle Grosso, confirming the club’s recent $20,000 pledge to the Chesterfield Center for the Arts Foundation with Betty Matthews, past president of the foundation.

Flying proudly in the background is the club’s gift to the Village Green: a large, all-weather, lighted American flag.  The flag project was chaired by Wayne Stuart (pictured right) who expressed his appreciation to lighting representative Chris Bates and electrician Matt Taylor for their contributions in getting the flag lighted.

The Kiwanis Club of Chester would also like to recognize and thank Jim Daniels (pictured left) who had the foresight to save the old Chester Post Office flagpole, and successfully guided its erection on the Village Green, with the help of Betty Matthews, Boy Scout Troupe 2871 and J.D. Shelton Backhoe.
