There is still time for representatives of area places of worship to register for the Chesterfield County Police Department’s Safety Conference for Places of Worship on Aug. 26, 2015.

The conference, which is being hosted by the department’s Crime Prevention Unit, will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chesterfield Career & Technical Center, 13900 Hull Street Road. Topics of discussion will include: building security, senior outreach, daycare/nursery safety, cash control and critical incident planning. Lunch will be provided.

Seating is limited for this free conference, and attendees must register by Friday, Aug. 21. No more than two individuals per worship organization may register. Attendees can register by calling the Crime Prevention Unit at 804-318-8699.

Attendees will also be able to sign up for the department’s new Worship Watch program. The Worship Watch program, like the department’s Neighborhood and Business watch programs, will help participating organizations share information and resources.
